Mercedes W204 EIS/ELV to 16-pin OBD2 adapter cable
The Mercedes W204 EIS/ELV to 16-pin OBD2 adapter cable is a highly specialized diagnostic and programming adapter designed for direct communication with the EIS (Elektronischer Zündschalter) and ELV (Elektronische Lenkungsverriegelung) modules outside the vehicle. The cable is not intended for standard OBD2 diagnostics, but for on-bench programming when components are disassembled.
This direct connection makes it possible to power and connect EIS and ELV modules to advanced programming equipment. Modules can thus be tested, repaired, personalized, or replaced without intervention from other vehicle electronics.
Application and functionality:
This cable is used in combination with professional Mercedes programming tools such as CGDI MB, Autel IM608, Xhorse VVDI MB and similar systems. Typical applications are:
- ELV repair: Read data, virginize, and re-personalize after engine damage
- Key programming: Add new keys or disable lost keys
- Module replacement: Transfer data from defective to new/used EIS module
- Test platform: Simulation of communication between EIS, ELV (or ELV emulator) and key
These procedures require experience and suitable hardware. Not suitable for use via the standard OBD2 vehicle port.
