Mercedes W164 EIS/ELV to 16-pin OBD2 Adapter Cable
The Mercedes W164 EIS/ELV to 16-pin OBD2 adapter cable is a specialized programming adapter designed for direct communication with the electronic ignition switch (EIS) of vehicles from the W164 platform. This cable is not suitable for standard OBD2 diagnostics, but intended for professional use on the workbench (on-bench), outside the vehicle.
The EIS module is powered by this cable and directly connected to specialized programming equipment. This allows technicians to test, repair, or program the module without the presence of the rest of the vehicle electronics. In this platform, the ELV is usually integrated or directly connected to the EIS.
Application and functionality:
This cable is used in combination with tools such as CGDI MB, Autel IM608, Xhorse VVDI MB and similar systems. Main applications:
- Key programming: Teach new keys or disable lost keys (also for "All Keys Lost")
- Module replacement: Read data from defective EIS and transfer to a new or used module
- Repair and testing: Test functionality of the EIS on the workbench
