The Mercedes Banana Plug adapter cable is a specialized adapter that allows reading classic Mercedes-Benz vehicles with the SD Connect C4 multiplexer. These models are not equipped with a modern diagnostic port but use a diagnostic box with separate test buses in the engine compartment.
The cable features a robust C4 connector on one side and color-coded 4mm banana plugs on the other side. This allows the user to manually select the correct signal line, enabling communication via HHT-WIN or Xentry – including reading flashing codes and performing basic diagnostic tests.
Application and functionality:
This cable enables manual diagnosis on older vehicles without standardized OBD connection. Applications include:
- 12V power supply: Red plug for battery power
- Ground connection: Black plug for chassis/engine block
- K-Line signal: Connect yellow or green plug to desired test bus (e.g. engine management, ABS, airbag)
Use in combination with HHT-WIN via Xentry/DAS software or standalone tools with K-Line functionality.
