The Mercedes 38-pin OBD1 adapter cable is an indispensable adapter for connecting the SD Connect C4 multiplexer to older Mercedes-Benz passenger cars and early vans. These vehicles use a round 38-pin diagnostic connector instead of the later 16-pin OBD2 connector. The cable forms the necessary bridge between the 38-pin port in the engine compartment and the 16-pin interface cable of the C4 multiplexer.
Thanks to the correct internal pin translation, all system lines (multiple K-lines, power and ground) can be correctly transmitted, enabling extensive dealer diagnostics via Xentry/DAS.
Application and functionality:
The cable enables full communication with vehicles equipped with a 38-pin diagnostic port. Typical applications:
- Read and clear fault codes: Support for engine, ABS, SRS, transmission, comfort modules
- View live data: Monitoring of real-time values and sensors
- Perform actuations: Control and test components via DAS
- Full module coverage: Via various K-lines to individual ECUs
