The Launch Creader 3001 is a trouble code reader designed to perform diagnostics on the engine management system via the vehicle's OBD2 port. The device functions as a plug-and-play solution and requires no batteries, as it is powered directly by the diagnostic connector. The trouble code reader is equipped with a 1.77 inch TFT color screen for displaying diagnostic information and navigating menus.
This model supports all 10 OBD2 test modes, enabling a complete diagnosis of emission-related systems. Features such as displaying live data and freeze frame data provide insight into vehicle performance at the time a fault occurred. The built-in DTC-lookup library displays trouble code definitions directly on the screen, eliminating the need for external lookups. The device supports multiple languages, including English, German, and French.
Application and functionality:
The Creader 3001 is used for reading and clearing trouble codes related to the engine management system and the emission system.
- Read and clear trouble codes: Reads and clears generic (P0, P2, P3, U0) and manufacturer-specific (P1, P3, U1) Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC's). This can turn off the 'check engine' light (MIL).
- Live data stream: Displays a continuous stream of real-time vehicle data, such as engine RPM, coolant temperature, and fuel system status.
- I/M readiness check: Checks the status of emission-related systems to determine if the vehicle is ready for an emissions test or MOT.
- Freeze frame data: Saves a snapshot of the vehicle's operating conditions at the time an emission-related fault was detected.
- O2 sensor test: Requests test results from oxygen sensors to check performance.
- On-board monitor test: Reads the results of on-board diagnostic monitoring tests for specific components and systems.
- EVAP system test (Mode $8): Initiates a leak test of the vehicle's evaporative emission control system (EVAP).
- Retrieve vehicle information: Displays the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN), Calibration Identification Number (CIN), and Calibration Verification Number (CVN).
- DTC-lookup: A built-in library for looking up and displaying the definitions of detected trouble codes.
