The KTM 6-pin to 16-pin OBD2 adapter cable is a specialized adapter essential for performing diagnostics on a wide range of modern KTM motorcycles. Many KTM models, as well as models from related brands Husqvarna and GasGas, are equipped with a compact 6-pin diagnostic connector (often from the brand SUMITOMO). This connection is not directly compatible with the standardized 16-pin OBD2 port found on most universal and professional OBD2 scanners.
This adapter cable acts as a robust and reliable bridge between the specific connection of the motorcycle and the standard diagnostic connector. It enables both the professional mechanic and the enthusiastic motorcyclist to communicate directly with the electronic systems of the motorcycle using a suitable scan tool or a Bluetooth/Wi-Fi OBD interface. Application and functionality:
The primary function of this adapter is to enable vehicle diagnostics by connecting a 16-pin OBD2 scanner or dongle to the 6-pin port of the motorcycle. Once connected, and in combination with compatible software (such as TuneECU, Torque or other diagnostic apps), users can among other things:
- Read and clear fault codes from the engine management (ECU)
- View live sensor data such as RPM, temperature, sensor values
