The Jaltest 29481 is the update licence for the Manufacturer Module, which allows you to select by system manufacturer instead of vehicle make and model. This extends a module already registered to your serial number for a further twelve months.
This module addresses exactly where standard vehicle selection falls short: with imported and older model year vehicles, with converted and custom-built vehicles assembled from components by different manufacturers, and when you can read the nameplate on the unit but cannot find the vehicle in the list. The module does not work independently: you need an active Modular Truck (293100) or Modular Bus (293300) licence. If you do not renew the manufacturer module, only that module will be blocked; your Modular diagnostics will continue to function normally.

What the Manufacturer Module does
Jaltest normally provides one route to a control unit: you select make, model and year, and the software shows which systems apply. The Manufacturer Module adds a second route. You start with the system manufacturer – as shown on the unit's nameplate – and select the system from there. This renewal keeps that second route open.
When you need that alternative route
- The vehicle is not in the catalogue: imported vehicles, an older model year, or a variant that Jaltest does not recognise as a model.
- A converted or custom-built vehicle: assembled from components by different manufacturers, making make and model less relevant.
- You know which system is fitted: the nameplate on the unit identifies the manufacturer, getting you there faster than via the vehicle route.
- Vehicle selection reaches a dead end: automatic recognition cannot identify a system you know is present.

- Selection by manufacturer: you choose the system manufacturer instead of vehicle make, model and year.
- System scan: the software identifies which units from that manufacturer are present.
- Read and clear fault codes: with the descriptions associated with that system.
- Live measurement data: system parameters while running.
- Component control: targeted actuation to verify whether a component responds.
- Parameters and calibrations: the settings and calibrations available per system.
- Maintenance resets: the service resets associated with those systems.

Below are the system manufacturers that Jaltest covers at this level, organised by system type. Which units are available per manufacturer varies and depends on the Modular licence you hold. For a manufacturer such as Wabco, for example, this includes braking systems, safety systems, air suspension and tyre pressure monitoring.

The two options
The Manufacturer Module is available in two options with identical coverage. The difference is in what you purchase – a one-time purchase or a renewal – not in what you can do with it.

What you need
The Manufacturer module is an extension to your Modular diagnostic system, not a standalone licence. Below is the full breakdown.
- Jaltest Link: The diagnostic interface. Required, even to start the software on a PC.
- An active Modular licence: Modular Truck (293100) or Modular Bus (293300), or both. The module operates within that coverage.
- Software activation (29469): Your initial purchase of the module.
- The renewal itself (29481): This product. Twelve months added.
- Adaptor cables (optional): Available per manufacturer or system, individually or as a cable set. If you don't have them, you can connect using the multipin connector set from your Jaltest case.

How does it work in practice?
From order to renewed licence takes four steps. You don't need to reinstall anything.
- Provide serial number: When placing your order, state the serial number of the Jaltest Link on which the existing licence is registered.
- We handle the renewal: We activate the renewal on that serial number, typically within one working day of your order.
- Email confirmation: We'll contact you once the new expiry date is set on your serial number.
- Update the software: Open Jaltest Diagnostics and download the latest version; your manufacturer selection remains available as normal.
