The Jaltest JT3011 is an optical refractometer developed for measuring the refractive index of transparent liquids and solids. This measurement enables analysis of fluids such as glycol concentrations (ethylene and propylene), battery acid, and urea (AdBlue). Additionally, the refractometer is used to determine the freezing point of antifreeze and windshield washer fluids.
This model features Automatic Temperature Compensation (ATC), which ensures accurate measurements at varying ambient temperatures without the need for manual corrections. The eyepiece is adjustable to obtain a clear and sharp view of the measurement scale. Calibration is usually done with distilled water and the included screwdriver, ensuring proper operation.
Application and functionality:
The Jaltest JT3011 is used for a quick and accurate analysis of various fluids used in the workshop.
- Coolant Analysis: Measurement of the freezing point of cooling systems based on both ethylene glycol (G11/G12) and propylene glycol (G13).
- Battery Acid Test: Check of the specific gravity of the battery acid to determine the battery's charge state.
- AdBlue Measurement: Analysis of the urea concentration in AdBlue (Diesel Exhaust Fluid) to check the proper operation of SCR systems. A correct concentration (usually 32.5%) is required for effective NOx reduction.
- Windshield Washer Fluid: Determination of the freezing point of windshield washer fluid.
- Automatic Temperature Compensation (ATC): Automatically corrects measurement results for ambient temperature, making the measurements consistent and reliable.
