The Jaltest JT2002 is a digital autorange multimeter with 6000-count LCD display, designed to measure a wide range of electrical parameters on vehicles and installations. The meter measures AC/DC voltage up to 1000V, AC/DC current up to 10A, resistance up to 60MΩ, capacitance up to 4000µF, frequency up to 10MHz and temperature up to 1000°C via the supplied K-type thermocouple.

Equipped with professional features including diode and continuity testing with audible alert, REL Δ for relative measurement, MIN/MAX recording, data hold and backlit display. Meets safety ratings CAT III 1000V and CAT IV 600V in accordance with EN 61010-1 and EN 61010-2-030.

✕Pollution degree 2 — Intended for normal workshop environments; protection is needed in dusty or contaminated spaces.
✕Specific fuses for overload protection — Replacement requires exact types F600mA H 1000V and F10A H 1000V.

Application and Functionality

The Jaltest JT2002 is a versatile test meter for a wide range of electrical and electronic measurements. All functions are accessible via the central rotary dial and supplementary push buttons.

  • Voltage and current measurement: AC and DC across multiple, automatically selected ranges.
  • Resistance and capacitance measurement: For circuits and capacitors.
  • Frequency and duty cycle measurement: Analysis of signals such as PWM-controlled components, injectors, and solenoids.
  • Temperature measurement: Via the included K-type thermocouple from -40°C to 1000°C.
  • Continuity test: Checks circuit continuity with audible signal, buzzer at ≤ 10Ω.
  • Diode test: Measures forward voltage drop across diodes.
  • MIN/MAX recording: Captures minimum and maximum readings during a measurement session.
  • Relative measurement REL Δ: Set the current reading as zero reference to measure deviations.
  • Data hold and backlight: Freeze the measurement value on the display and illuminate the screen for better readability.

Good to know: Use the REL Δ function before measuring low resistance values. First touch the test leads together and zero out the reading, so the cable's own resistance doesn't factor into your result. When testing ground connections or heavy power cables, this often makes a difference of several tenths of an ohm—precisely the difference between a good connection and a suspect one.
