\nThe Jaltest JDC553A is the diagnostic cable between the 9-pin SUB-D connector from Jungheinrich and the standard 16-pin OBD2-interface of your Jaltest diagnostic cable. It is a short cable measuring 28 to 30 cm: On the machine side there is a SUB-D connector with nine male pinsin a nickel-plated D-shaped connector with twobolts, on the other end a black moulded OBD2 connector. The SUB-D connector is located in the operator's cabin or under the bonnet of the truck. Jungheinrich uses the same SUB-D connector on both the electric EFG and warehouse series as well as on the DFG diesel and TFG LPG forklifts, meaning one cable is compatible with a large portion of the fleet.\n
Behind this single connection lies the machine computer systemMCM, MCM2 and DLC, the hydraulic control HCU, the power modules LMC and RMC, the instrument panel DC and, on the DFG/TFG versions, the engine control units E-CDIS, EDC 16 U31 and EDC 17 CP20 (CPYA)The difference lies in the drive system: electric trucks operate with power modules, whilst diesel and LPG versions also use engine management. Forklifts have never been subject to OBD requirements, which is why Jungheinrich continues to use this connector on recent machines. The cable falls underJaltest MHE (Material Handling Equipment).\n

Applications and functionality
Through this connection, you access the truck's control units using Jaltest software. The 9-pin SUB-D connector connects to the truck, whilst the 16-pin OBD2 side connects to your Jaltest diagnostic cable. Which systems are present varies by model series and drivetrain type.
Control units you can access
- MCM, Body computer and MCM2, Body computer: The central vehicle computer of the truck.
- DLC, Body computer: The machine computer of the electric EFG series.
- HCU, Hydraulic System: The hydraulic control of the lifting mechanism.
- LMC and RMC, Power module: The power modules for lifting and drive functions.
- DC, Instrument cluster: The instrument panel, containing maintenance data.
- E-CDIS, Electronic Diesel Control, Common Rail: The common-rail engine control of the DFG/TFG versions, with additional functions.
- EDC 16 U31 and EDC 17 CP20 (CPYA), Electronic Diesel Control: The other diesel engine controls.
What you can do
- Read and clear fault codes: Access the fault memory of the control unit, with descriptions of detected faults.
- View measured values: The current readings from sensors connected to the control unit, displayed as figures and graphs.
- Consult maintenance data: The service intervals and work performed on the machine, with a service report.
- Perform additional functions: Available with the E-CDIS engine control.
Compatible vehicles and applications
The connector type determines compatibility, not the model. This cable fits any Jungheinrich forklift or warehouse truck equipped with the 9-pin SUB-D connector. The following series are covered by Jaltest MHE; you should verify which connector type is fitted to your truck on site.
