The Jaltest JDC546A connects the 6-pin diagnostic connector of the ZF Ergopower transmission to the 16-pin OBD2 port on your Jaltest diagnostic cable. On the vehicle side, a white plastic connector with six positions arranged in two rows of three is housed in a black moulded body with a locking tab on top. Midway along the cable sits a turquoise marker ring; the cable measures 28 to 30 cm.

With this connection, Jaltest diagnostic equipment reads the transmission control unit ZF - Ergopower, the powershift gearbox supplied by ZF for wheel loaders, dump trucks and similar machines. Jaltest lists this unit under Transmission, including fault codes, live data, component actuation, ECU information and calibration. Because the transmission control unit is the determining factor rather than the machine manufacturer, the cable remains compatible with any machine fitted with this ZF gearbox. The cable works with Jaltest Link V8.1 and V9 and falls under Jaltest OHW.

IMPORTANT NOTES

Applicable only to the 6-pin Ergopower connection ; ZF uses a dedicated diagnostic connector for each transmission family.
With ZF - Ergopower, parameter adjustment and reset are not covered.
Ergopower is ZF's transmission control unit : Bus-type automatic transmissions require their own cables, with JDC307A for the Ecomat 4, JDC308A and JDC309A for the two EcoLife variants, and JDC303A for the 3+6-pin ZF connection.
Additional control modules within the vehicle vary by manufacturer: Engine control is accessed via a separate connector.

Useful to know: The six-pin white connector is part of the Ergopower transmission control and is typically located in the cab or at the gearbox control unit. ZF uses a different diagnostic connector for each gearbox family, and you can identify this cable immediately by the turquoise marking ring on the lead.
