The Jaltest (JDC406A) is an Adapter Cable designed to establish a connection between a diagnostic device and specific vehicles from the FCA group (Fiat Chrysler Automobiles). The cable features a 12+8-pin connector for the vehicle side and a standard 16-pin OBD2 connection for the reading device.

This Adapter is specifically developed to bypass the Security Gateway Module (SGW), which is present in newer FCA vehicles. The SGW functions as a firewall and restricts access via the OBD2 port to data reading only. By using this cable, a direct connection to the vehicle's CAN bus is enabled, allowing extended diagnostic functions such as clearing fault codes, performing active tests, and executing service procedures.

Application and functionality:

This Adapter Cable makes it possible to bypass the Security Gateway Module (SGW) in FCA vehicles, thereby gaining full diagnostic access.

  • SGW bypass: Enables a direct connection to the vehicle's diagnostic network, bypassing the SGW.
  • Extended diagnosis: Unlocks the ability to clear fault codes, perform service functions, and carry out calibrations.
  • Active tests: Allows performing actuator tests and component controls, functions blocked by the SGW.
