The Jaltest JDC406A is the diagnostic cable for the 12+8-pin connector on the Secure Gateway (SGW) from FCA; the cable connects that port to the 16-pin OBD2 input on your Jaltest diagnostic device. On the vehicle side, the cable connects directly to the SGW module rather than the vehicle's standard OBD port. The Secure Gateway is a separate module installed in the vehicle, not located at the OBD port under the dashboard.
Once connected, the Jaltest software reaches the Secure Gateway, the security module that FCA has integrated since 2018 between the diagnostic port and the vehicle network to prevent unauthorized diagnostics. Through this module, your diagnostic equipment accesses the control units available on that specific model and variant. Jaltest is recognized by FCA as compatible diagnostic equipment and works through the manufacturer's authentication servers, not by bypassing security: Without authorization, the gateway blocks functions like component actuation and fault code clearing. This cable falls under Jaltest CV (commercial vehicles).

What you can do
- Read fault codes: Access the fault memory of the reachable control units.
- Clear fault codes: One of the functions that the Secure Gateway blocks without authorization.
- Control components: The bidirectional functions that also require authorization.
- View live data: The current sensor readings from the control units you can access.
- Note: What's actually available depends on the model and authorization via AutoAuth.
Compatible vehicles and applications
The installed module determines compatibility, not the vehicle model. This cable is designed for FCA's Secure Gateway with the 12+8-pin connector; check on-site whether that module is in your vehicle.
