\nThe Jaltest JDC220A connects directly to the control unit of the Knorr-Bremse EBS 5, which is the diagnostic line it performs on the unit itself. Behind the 16-pin OBD2-connector splits the cable into two branches, each with a rectangular 18-pin connector in three rows of six: The one with pins, the other with cables. These two form a matching pair, so you connect the existing connection between thecontrol unit and wiring harness disconnect and insert this cable between them. This keeps the braking system connected whilst you read the data.\n
\nBehind this connection comes the Jaltest software with the EBS 5, the electronically controlled braking system from Knorr-Bremse. This allows the equipment to read the fault memory and the measurement values out, it sends components of the braking system, it sets parameters in and carries out the reset procedures that come with the system. Some of these functions become available with the separate module Knorr-Bremse Diagnostics(ref. 71502007). The cable is included in the Jaltest CV module.

Applications and functionality
Using this connection, you access the Jaltest software to diagnose the electronically controlled braking system from Knorr-Bremse, not the engine. Because the cable connects inline between the control unit and the wiring harness, the system remains connected during measurement. The control unit below is covered by Jaltest's EBS module, with the functions available there.
