\nThe Jaltest JDC206A converts the manufacturer-specific 30-pin diagnostic connector from Iveco commercial vehicles to 16-pin OBD2-input of your Jaltest diagnostic cable. On the vehicle side there is a large round connectorwith a knurled coupling ring, acodeernokon the side and thirty pins in a dense pin field; the cable exits straight out. The cable measures28 to 30 cmand the cable works withJaltest Link V8.1 and V9. The connection is located in the cab.\n

Via this adapter, diagnostic equipment connects to the vehicle network and thereby to the control units of virtually the entire heavy-duty Iveco range, fromEuroCargo and EuroTechto the firstStralis with Cursor engine. Depending on model and engine specification, you access the engine control settings EDC M7 and EDC MS6.2, the gearbox Eurotronic 2, the braking, retarder and air suspension systems and on the Stralis also the carrosseriecomputer BC and the cabin modules. From Euro IV(October 2005) Iveco replaced the 30-pin connector with the 16-pin OBD2 interface. This cable falls under Jaltest CV (commercial vehicles).

KEY BENEFITS

Covers the entire older Iveco range:EuroCargo, EuroTech, EuroStar, EuroTrakker and early Stralis and Trakker.
Accesses engine control units EDC M7 (in-line injection pump) and EDC MS6.2 (unit injector system for Cursor).
On the Stralis also the gearbox Eurotronic 2, the body control module BC and door and cab modules.
Behind the same connector are the braking systems (ABS, EBS and EBS 2), the Intarder and the ECAS air suspension.

IMPORTANT NOTES

Coverage varies significantly by generation: On an EuroTech MT/MP Jaltest primarily covers engine, brakes, retarder and air suspension, whereas on a Stralis Euro 3 body control module, climate and gearbox are also included.
Only for the 30-pin Iveco connector; other manufacturers and later Iveco generations use their own connector.
From Euro IV (October 2005) Iveco replaced the 30-pin connector with the standardised 16-pin OBD2 connector.
At 28 to 30 cm in length, the cable is short, so you work close to the connector in the cab.

Applications and functionality

Using this connection, you access the vehicle's control units with Jaltest software. Which units are present depends on the model and engine specification: a EuroCargo from the 1990s carries significantly less electronics than a Stralis. The control units below are covered by Jaltest's Iveco coverage.

Control units you can access

  • EDC M7, engine control with in-line injection pump: Engine management for the EuroTech and EuroCargo generation.
  • EDC MS6.2, engine control with unit injector system: Engine management for the Stralis with Cursor engine.
  • Eurotronic 2, automated gearbox: Transmission control, with a separate input for setting gearbox parameters.
  • WTEC III Allison, automatic transmission: Allison automatic transmission control.
  • ABS C3 / ABS Knorr-Bremse / ABS D-E and EBS / EBS 2: Braking and brake management systems.
  • Intarder KWP and Intarder CAN: Auxiliary brake control.
  • ECAS, electronically controlled air suspension:The level control in the 4x2 A, 4x2 Ratio, 6x2 DV, CAN and KWP versions.
  • BC, CM, DDM/PDM, FFM and RFM:The body control unit and cabin and door modules of the Stralis.
  • Control unit, ignition control and starter interrupt:Climate control, instrument panel and starter interrupt.

What you can do

  • Read and clear fault codes:Read the fault memory of the control unit, with a description of the detected fault.
  • View measurement values:The current sensor values connected to the control unit, displayed in figures and graph format.
  • Control modules:Parts can be activated directly to determine whether a fault lies with the component itself or in the wiring.
  • Configure settings:Write configurations and settings to the control unit.
  • Perform calibrations:At systems where Jaltest offers a calibration procedure, for example after component replacement.

Compatible vehicles and applications

The connector type is what matters, not the vehicle model. This cable is compatible with any Iveco commercial vehicle with the 30-pin diagnostic connector. The series below covers Jaltest CV; the final year is capped at October 2005, when the standardised 16-pin OBD2-connection became mandatory for commercial vehicles. With the Laverda-combine harvesters with Iveco engines are not subject to this limit, as for agricultural machinery never a diagnostic connection has been prescribed.\n

Iveco:

  • EuroCargo (1st and 2nd generation):(1991 - 2005)
  • EuroTech:(1992 - 2002)
  • EuroStar:(1993 - 2003)
  • EuroTrakker:(1993 - 2004)
  • Stralis (Cursor):(2002 - 2005)
  • Trakker: (2004 - 2005)
  • Laverda combine harvesters with Iveco/FPT engine: Year of manufacture not decisive; agricultural machinery is not subject to OBD requirements.
💡
Good to know: The 30-pin connector is located in the cab and can be identified by the knurled coupling ring with the coding lug on the side. From Euro IV (October 2005) onwards, Iveco switched to the standardised 16-pin OBD2-connector. Check the connector in your cab before ordering.
