The Jaltest JDCM850 is the isolation cable harnessfor theCummins ECM CM850. The wiring harness connects the control unitindependent of the vehicle wiringdirectly to your diagnostic interface. On the engine side, the cable terminates in a black connector withtwo twenty-five-pin connector blocks side by side, with numbered rows along the top and two locking clips, and alongside that runs a loose grey 4-pin Deutsch connector with orange locking clip with it. Together they form the 4+50-pins from the title. On the other side is a black plastic housing with the 16-pin OBD2-connection and a Jaltest sticker bearing the JDCM850 designation.
This is aphysical componentthat we send you and it is included withJaltest Central Services: A service based on pay per use, whereby Jaltest technicians can remotely perform functions that are not possible with a standard diagnostic device, such as reprogramming certain control units. For Cummins, that is the Cummins calibration update (70810000), for which a minimum of software version 24.1 is required. The ATS department may require you to have such a cable harness. To subscribe to Central Services, your Jaltest Link version V7 or newer are; the services are charged at credits (71101082).

Applications and functionality
The JDCM850 is an adapter cable: it connects the Cummins ECM CM850 directly to your diagnostic interface, independent of the vehicle wiring. On one end, the 4+50-pin connection to the control unit; on the other end, the 16-pin OBD2-side to the Jaltest Link. What you then have executed is part of Jaltest Central Services and runs through the ATS team.
What the cable harness is for
- Connection to the control unit: The 50-pin connector and the separate 4-pin connector connect to the Cummins ECM CM850.
- Independent of the vehicle wiring: The control unit is connected separately to the interface via this cable harness.
- Connection to the interface: The 16-pin OBD2-side connects to the Jaltest Link.
- One coupling per cable harness: This configuration is for the CM850; for a different ECU type, a different isolation harness is required.

- Remote diagnostics: Jaltest technicians perform functions that are not possible with a standard diagnostic device, such as reprogramming certain control units.
- Cummins calibration update (70810000): The service that Jaltest provides for Cummins; this requires a minimum of software version 24.1 .

Compatibility
The ECM type is what matters, not the engine series or vehicle manufacturer.This wiring harness is designed for the Cummins ECM CM850 with the 4+50-pins connection. With these isolation harnesses, no engine or vehicle coverage is specified: there is no list of engine series or vehicle makes to check whether the harness suits your application. The type plate of the control unit and the number of pins on the connector are what count.
- What matters: The ECM type (Cummins ECM CM850) and the number of pins on the ECM connector (4+50-pins).
- What doesn't matter: The engine series, vehicle manufacturer and year of manufacture; these are not specified for this harness.
- Check yourself: Read the control unit type from the type plate and count the connector pins.
