The GoDiag GT106 Plus voltage converter is designed to convert the 24V diagnostic port of heavy commercial vehicles and trucks to a safe 12V connection. This enables the use of standard 12V diagnostic equipment on 24V vehicles without risk of overload or hardware damage. In addition to reducing the supply voltage, this Adapter also converts the 24V K-line communication protocol to a 12V K-line signal. The device is equipped with a built-in digital display for reading the current output voltage and features status indicators for visually monitoring active communication protocols such as J1939, K-line, and J1708.

During use, the converter is connected directly between the vehicle’s OBD2 port and the diagnostic interface. Once the connection is established, the screen shows the output voltage and the LED indicators signal when data transfer occurs between the vehicle’s ECU and the connected tester. Besides diagnostic conversion, the module functions as a test instrument for external components, with built-in connections for controlling relays and activating fuel injectors in both 12V and 24V systems. With the integrated DC power connection, the technician can directly supply power to components under test, making it a versatile tool for troubleshooting electrical and mechanical faults in the fuel system.

ADVANTAGES

Protects 12V diagnostic equipment by actively reducing 24V supply voltage.
Automatically converts the 24V K-line protocol for seamless communication.
Equipped with a built-in voltmeter with digital display for immediate visual inspection.
Supports direct component activation for testing relays and fuel injectors.

IMPORTANT NOTES

For cleaning injectors, external extension cables and cleaning fluid are required.
When testing 24V injectors, the activation time is limited to a maximum of 120 seconds.

Applications and functionalities

The GoDiag GT106 Plus combines OBD voltage conversion with signal analysis. This allows the device to be safely used in workshops working with both light and heavy commercial vehicles. The primary functionalities are described below:

  • 24V to 12V voltage conversion: Lowers the voltage from the diagnostic port of trucks so that standard 12V OBD2 scanners can be safely connected without burning out.
  • K-line protocol conversion: Converts 24V K-line communication signals to 12V. This is required to allow 12V diagnostic hardware to communicate with control units of various heavy vehicles.
  • Real-time voltage display: Shows the current output voltage on the digital display to verify the stability of the power supply to the connected equipment.
  • Communication indication: Provides visual LED feedback for active protocols such as J1939, J1708, and K-line, allowing the technician to immediately see if a successful data connection has been established.

Special features and capabilities

In addition to regular diagnostic conversion, this device offers hardware test capabilities for specific electromechanical components on board the vehicle.

  • Relay test (12V and 24V): Enables disconnected relays (for example, headlights, horn, or starter motor) to be directly powered and controlled via the Adapter to check switching function.
  • Fuel injector activation (12V and 24V): Can electronically open and close fuel injectors by directly controlling them. This allows the technician to visually or audibly verify operation and detect stuck needles.
  • Support for fuel injector cleaning: By repeatedly activating the injector with the Adapter while simultaneously supplying pressure via a (not included) cleaning canister, blockages in the nozzle can be flushed out.

Package Contents

  • 1x GoDiag GT106 Plus voltage converter
  • 1x Power cable with integrated fuse holder
  • 1x DC power cable
  • 4x Alligator clips (2x red, 2x black)
  • 4x Rubber protective covers for the clamps
💡
Good to know: When electronically controlling 24V fuel injectors, ensure the continuous activation time does not exceed 120 seconds. Longer load can overheat and damage the internal coil of the injector.
