The GoDiag GT100 Plus breakout box is an advanced test platform designed for OBD2 protocol communication detection and performing ECU diagnostics, maintenance, and programming on the bench. This device enables diagnostic technicians to split the 16-pin OBD2 interface for direct signal detection and make reliable connections with individual or multiple vehicle modules. The GT100 Plus is equipped with an integrated digital display for real-time current and voltage display, and supports specialized data transfer via protocols such as DOIP-ENET and ECU GPT, which is necessary for reading and writing data without having to open the physical housing of the control unit.
In practice, the hardware functions as an active bridge between the diagnostic equipment and the vehicle network, with LED indicators visually confirming the communication status of individual pins such as the CAN bus and K-Line directly. When used as a bench test setup, the system provides stable power to the connected control units, with precise current measurement helping to identify internal short circuits or hardware defects. Additionally, the module serves as a reliable emergency power supply via the OBD2 port during vehicle battery replacement to prevent data loss, and features a built-in converter that safely steps down a 24V diagnostic signal to 12V, making standard 12V equipment compatible with heavy commercial vehicles.
ADVANTAGES
IMPORTANT NOTES
Applications and functionalities
The GoDiag GT100 Plus is designed to bridge vehicle networks and diagnostic equipment, providing insight into signals and flexibility for workbench tests.
- OBD2 communication detection: The device measures and directly shows via LED indicators which pins (such as CAN-High, CAN-Low, K-Line, PWM) are actively communicating between the vehicle's diagnostic port and the connected tester. This prevents diagnostics on incorrect or dead networks.
- Workbench power supply with current monitoring: When connecting an ECU on the workbench, the device supplies the required power. The digital display shows the current consumption (Amps), which is a crucial control tool to confirm or rule out internal shorts in the control unit.
- 24V to 12V signal conversion: For technicians working on heavy commercial vehicles, the GT100 Plus converts the incoming 24-volt signal to a safe 12-volt level. This allows standard passenger car diagnostic testers to be safely connected to trucks.
- Vehicle emergency power supply (Memory Saver): The device can inject power into the vehicle's OBD2 network via an external power source during a battery change. This ensures that learned volumes, adaptation values, radio codes, and key data remain safely stored in the modules' memory.
Special features and capabilities
In addition to the basic functions of a breakout box, this Plus model is equipped with hardware to support complex programming and coding tasks.
- ECU GPT communication: Provides the hardware support to read and flash specific engine control units via the GPT method, eliminating the need to physically open the ECU housing.
- DOIP-ENET compatibility: Equipped with the protocols and hardware connections for Diagnostics Over Internet Protocol (DOIP). This is required for programming and coding modern network architectures in brands such as BMW, Volvo, and Land Rover.
- Safe pin shorting (Key programming): The panel is designed to safely and controlled short specific OBD pins via the banana plugs. This is a required procedure in All-Keys-Lost situations for example with VAG, Porsche, and Mitsubishi models, where the immobilizer must be manually activated or bypassed.
- Multi-module bench setup: The platform has enough connection options to build a fully simulated vehicle network. This allows the engine ECU, immobilizer, ignition switch, and instrument panel to be connected simultaneously on the workbench for synchronized testing.
