The glass BDM frame holds an opened engine control unit (ECU) and the programming probes firmly in place while reading and programming on the workbench. Via the BDM or JTAG connection on the circuit board, you read out the ECU without soldering. The ECU rests on the frame and the 4 adjustable probes press precisely onto the small contact points on the board.

The transparent top plate with built-in LED lighting gives a clear view of the circuit board, so you can position the probes accurately. The frame works with common BDM programmers such as KESS, K-TAG, FGTech Galletto, BDM100 and CMD. The programmer itself is not included.

The BDM frame is intended for chip tuners, ECU specialists and workshops that read out, programme or clone control units outside the vehicle.

  • Cloning an ECU: Transferring data to a replacement control unit.
  • Data recovery: Reading out an ECU that no longer responds via the OBD connector.

How to use it

  1. Opening the ECU: Remove the board or open the housing of the control unit.
  2. Placing the ECU: Place the ECU on the frame with the BDM points facing upwards.
  3. Positioning the probes: Place the probes on the contact points according to the ECU pinout.
  4. Connecting the programmer: Connect the probe cables to the programmer and connect the power supply.
  5. Reading or writing: Start reading or programming in the programmer's software.

Good to know: Have the ECU pinout ready before you start and check each probe with a magnifier or the LED lighting. A probe placed one point beside the contact will cause read errors or may damage the board.
