Foxwell NT204 | Error Code Reader | Car
The Foxwell NT204 is an OBDII/EOBD fault code reader designed for diagnosing engine faults in most modern vehicles. This plug-and-play device communicates via the OBD diagnostic port with the vehicle's control units. The results, including fault codes and live data, are displayed on a 2.4-inch TFT color screen. The device supports all ten OBDII test modes and is compatible with a wide range of protocols, including J1850, ISO9141, KWP2000, and CAN.
The NT204 is equipped with an I/M readiness test that checks the status of emission systems with the press of a button. Visual and audible indicators, such as the red-yellow-green LEDs and a built-in speaker, provide immediate feedback on the emission status. In addition to reading and clearing fault codes, the reader can also display live sensor data in text and graph format, show freeze frame data, and retrieve vehicle information such as the VIN. A built-in DTC library provides definitions of the found fault codes. Software updates are available free of charge and can be installed via the included USB cable.
Application and functionality:
This device is designed to perform basic diagnostics on the engine management system of OBDII/EOBD-compatible vehicles.
- Read and clear fault codes: Reads and clears generic (P0, P2, P3, U0) and manufacturer-specific (P1, P3, U1) diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) and deactivates the malfunction indicator lamp (MIL).
- I/M readiness test: Checks with one button whether the vehicle's emission-related systems are functioning correctly, which can be used to prepare for an emission test or MOT.
- Live data display: Shows a continuous data stream from vehicle sensors in real-time, both in text format and graphs.
- Freeze frame data: Records and displays the vehicle's operational parameters at the moment an emission-related fault occurred.
- Retrieve vehicle information: Reads the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN), Calibration Identification Number (CIN), and Calibration Verification Number (CVN).
- Visual and audible indicators: Three-color LEDs (green, yellow, red) and a built-in speaker provide a quick indication of the emission status.
- DTC library: A built-in lookup function displays the definitions of detected fault codes directly on the screen.
