The CarLabImmo FCA 12+8-pin SGW adapter cable is specifically designed to connect the 12-pin and 8-pin connectors of the Secure Gateway Module (SGW) to a standard 16-pin OBD2 interface. This cable acts as a physical bypass for modern FCA group vehicles, where the diagnostic port inside the interior often provides limited access to essential vehicle systems.
By connecting the cable directly to the vehicle wiring instead of the SGW module, the secured firewall is bypassed, enabling direct CAN bus communication. This is necessary for performing advanced diagnostic functions such as clearing fault codes, controlling actuators, and performing reprogramming with universal diagnostic equipment that does not have official FCA authorization.
