The Autool SDT50 is a Smoke Tester designed for detecting leaks in various piping systems of vehicles. The device operates with a 12V DC power supply, directly from the vehicle battery. Thanks to the built-in air pump, no external compressed air source is needed, making the tester mobile and flexible to use. Weighing only 1.5 kg and with a compact size, the SDT50 is easy to handle and store.
The operation is based on the principle of low oxygen combustion, where special oil is heated to generate a dense, visible smoke. This smoke is introduced into the system to be tested, allowing leaks to be quickly identified visually. The tester is equipped with an overheat protection that automatically switches off the device when the temperature exceeds a set limit, ensuring safety during use.
Application and functionality:
The SDT50 is used for diagnosing leaks in closed systems of cars and light trucks. The main functionalities are:
- Intake system leak detection: Identifies leaks in the intake manifold, the throttle valve, hoses, and the intercooler system.
- Exhaust system leak detection: Locates cracks or poor connections in the exhaust system, from the manifold to the muffler.
- Fuel system check (EVAP): Tests the tightness of the fuel evaporation system and the fuel tank for leaks.
- Crankcase ventilation (PCV) test: Checks the crankcase and associated hoses for air leaks.
- Various pipelines: Suitable for testing various other systems such as the coolant system and detecting leaks at oil seals.
- Built-in air pump: Independently generates the required pressure without relying on an external compressor.
