The Autool LM120+ is the complete set of the LM120 digital air conditioning manifold gauge. According to Autool, this version supports a three-colour hose set and two temperature clamps. It measures the low- and high-pressure sides simultaneously from 0 to 6000 kPa with ±0.5% accuracy, and vacuum to −101 kPa.

The database of 89 refrigerants, including R134a, looks up the evaporation and condensation temperature. With the clamps on T1 and T2, it calculates superheat and subcooling. It also features a pressure leak test with timer, a sight glass for refrigerant flow, and a fold-out hook for hanging it up.

  1. Fitting batteries: Four AA batteries.
  2. Zeroing: Set the pressures to zero with the connections open.
  3. Selecting refrigerant: Select the refrigerant of the system.
  4. Connecting: Blue hose to the low-pressure side, red to the high-pressure side, yellow to the bottle or vacuum pump.
  5. Measuring: Read pressures and saturation temperatures, or start the vacuum or leak test.

Good to know: Only measure superheat once the system has been running steadily for a few minutes. A high superheat reading usually indicates too little refrigerant; a low subcooling reading does too. Both high or both low together points more towards a problem with the expansion valve.
