The Autool BT280 is a circuit tester with multimeter and oscilloscope for 12 V and 24 V vehicles. It is powered by the vehicle battery and works from 9 to 30 V. In addition to voltage, resistance, diode and frequency, it measures current up to 18 A, and in oscilloscope mode you can view the signal as a curve on the 2.4-inch colour display.
In Smart mode, it automatically recognises voltage, resistance and polarity. There are separate tests for relays (4-pin and 5-pin) and injectors (4 pulse modes), and you can activate components with positive or earth. An adjustable 0–5 V power supply simulates a sensor signal and gives a warning if the voltage deviates by more than 0.1 V.

POINTS TO NOTE
Applications and functions
The BT280 is intended for mechanics and auto electricians who want to check sensors, actuators, relays and injectors in addition to wiring.
Measuring
- Multimeter: DC voltage, resistance, diode, current and frequency.
- Oscilloscope: Voltage and frequency as a curve over time.
- Smart mode: Automatically recognises voltage, resistance and polarity.
- Earth test: Checks whether an earth is good or bad.
Testing and activating
- Relay test: 4-pin and 5-pin relays with the relay test cable.
- Injector test: Pulse output in 4 modes.
- Activate components: Drive lamps, motors and relays.
- 0–5 V power supply: Adjustable, with alarm for deviation of more than 0.1 V.
How to use it
- Connecting: Connect the tester to the vehicle battery.
- Selecting a mode: Smart, multimeter, oscilloscope, relay or injector.
- Measuring: Touch the measuring point and read the display.
- Activating: Apply positive or earth to a component to test it.
- Updating: Update the software online.
Special features and functions
What sets the BT280 apart from a standard power probe:
- Colour display: 2.4-inch TFT, 320 × 240.
- Work lamp: Illuminates the measuring point.
- Online updates: New functions via an update.
- 14 languages: Multilingual menu.
