De Autool AS503 is een motorolietester die laat zien hoe vervuild de motorolie is. Een optische sonde meet hoeveel licht er nog door de olie komt: hoe meer roet en slijtagedeeltjes, hoe lager de waarde. Zo baseert u een olieverversing op de staat van de olie in plaats van alleen op de kilometerstand.
De sonde zit aan een flexibele PTFE-slang van 800 mm, zodat u via de peilstokbuis bij de olie komt. Er zijn aparte standen voor benzine- en dieselmotorolie. Na ongeveer 10 seconden toont het 2,8-inch scherm de doorlaatbaarheid in procenten, een oordeel in drie niveaus en de olietemperatuur.

- Batterijen plaatsen: Vier AAA-batterijen in het vak aan de achterkant.
- Sonde schoonmaken: Veeg de sonde schoon en droog.
- Oliesoort kiezen: Benzine of diesel.
- Sonde invoeren: Via de peilstokbuis tot de sonde volledig in olie onder 60 °C staat.
- Meten: Druk op de testtoets en lees na ca. 10 seconden het resultaat af.
