The Autel MaxiSys MS908S update licence extends your right to software updates for the MS908S for one year. What the MS908S can do is determined by its software, not its hardware. The device is a bidirectional diagnostic platform with a 9.7-inch screen and a wireless diagnostic interface that works up to 70 metres from the device. A renewal gives you a year's access to all new versions released during that period.

The licence is tied to the serial number of your MS908S, not to an account or code. We activate it within one working day on your device's serial number. A renewal maintains vehicle coverage, coding and customisation files and online services. When the term expires, nothing changes on the device itself, but new software will no longer be added.

POINTS TO NOTE

✕One licence applies per serial number, so a second MS908S in the same workshop requires its own renewal.
✕The MS908S performs ECU coding but not ECU programming; the latter is in the MS908S Pro and an update licence does not change that.
✕A renewal provides software, not hardware, so an oscilloscope and inspection camera must be purchased separately.
✕Downloading requires a stable wifi connection; on a busy guest network, a large update can take considerable time.

  • No supplementary content: New coverage and new procedures will no longer reach the device.
  • Online functions: Everything the software does not have on board may be lost after expiry.

How does it work in practice?

It takes four steps. Allow for download time if you haven't updated for a year.

  2. Registration with the manufacturer: We register your serial number for the new period, usually within one working day.
  3. Prepare the device: Connect the MS908S to the charger and ensure a stable wifi connection before starting the download.
