The Autel MaxiSys 906MAX update licence extends your entitlement to software updates for the MaxiSys 906MAX by one year. What the device can do is determined by the software and not by the hardware. The 906MAX is a 10.1-inch tablet running Android 10 with 4 GB of working memory and 128 GB of storage, which communicates with the vehicle via the MaxiVCI V200 and supports DoIP and CAN FD.

The licence is tied to the serial number of your MaxiSys 906MAX, not to an account or a code. We activate it within one working day on the serial number of your device. An extension keeps the vehicle coverage, the coding files and the more than 40 maintenance functions up to date. If the term expires, nothing changes to what is already on the device, but no new software is added.

POINTS TO NOTE

✕One licence applies per serial number, so a second 906MAX in the same workshop needs its own extension.
✕The ADAS calibration requires both a software upgrade and the calibration system from Autel; neither is included in this licence.
✕An extension delivers software and not hardware, so the MaxiVCI V200 and separate modules remain a separate purchase.
✕Downloading requires a stable Wi-Fi connection; on a busy guest network a large update can take a long time.

Applications and functionality

Three things on the MaxiSys 906MAX depend on the licence. The vehicle coverage determines which vehicles the device recognises, the function files determine what it may do with them, and the online services deliver what comes in from outside.

What an extension gives you

  • New vehicle coverage: Makes, models and model years added after your last update become available within the existing diagnostic functions.
  • Coding files: The files behind coding and adaptations are expanded for newer control units.
  • Maintenance functions: New and corrected service and reset procedures are added through the same updates.
  • Corrections and improvements: Error fixes and faster routines in the software itself are added through the same updates.

What happens without an extension

  • No addition: New coverage and new procedures are no longer added to the device.
  • Online functions: Anything that runs via the manufacturer's servers may be limited or no longer available after expiry.
  • No loss of function: What you do with the device today, you can still do after the licence expires.
