The Autel MaxiCom MK906 update licence extends your entitlement to software updates for the MK906 by one year. The MK906 is the older basic model of the MK906 range, so not the later MK906 Pro. It is a diagnostic tablet for passenger cars that reads all systems, clears fault codes, displays live data and carries out active tests. What the device can do with a newer car depends on the software version installed on it.
By extending the licence you gain the latest vehicle coverage and updated service procedures. You provide us with the serial number and we apply the licence to it, usually within one working day. If the licence is allowed to expire, the MK906 continues to work with the current version. Nothing new is added then.

Applications and functions
For a basic device such as the MK906, an update mainly concerns two things. Can the device recognise the car, and do the procedures still match? Below you can see what changes with and without an extension.

How does it work in practice?
You arrange the extension in four short steps. The only thing you need to look up yourself is the serial number.
- Provide serial number: Enter the serial number of your MK906 when you place your order.
- Activation: We apply the licence to that number, usually within one working day.
- Prepare the device: Connect the MK906 to the charger and connect it to a stable Wi-Fi network.
- Install updates: Go to the update menu, select the new versions and start the download.
