The Autel MaxiCom MK808Z update licence extends your right to software updates for the MK808Z by one year. The MK808Z is a wired diagnostic tablet running Android 11 from the MK808 family, which connects directly to the OBD port via the diagnostic cable. It reads all systems and controls components bidirectionally, with coverage of more than eighty brands. How well it recognises a new vehicle depends on the software version on the tablet.
We activate the licence on the serial number of your MK808Z, usually within one working day, after which the new versions appear in the update menu. An extension keeps the vehicle coverage, the active tests and the reset procedures up to date. If the licence expires, the MK808Z continues to work on the last installed version, but no new software will be added.

Applications and functionality
The software on the MK808Z determines which vehicles it recognises and what it can do with them. Below you can see what an extension adds and what happens if you do not extend, divided into vehicle coverage, tests and procedures.
What an extension gives you
- New vehicle coverage: Models and model years added after your last update become available within the full system diagnostics.
- Active tests: Bidirectional control of, among others, windows, doors, valves and fans expands with new vehicles.
- Reset procedures: Oil service, electronic parking brake, steering angle sensor, battery registration, DPF regeneration and injector coding continue to apply to newer models.
What happens without an extension
- New versions: No new vehicles, procedures or corrections will be added.
- Online side: Services that run via the manufacturer's servers may be limited or no longer available after expiry.
- Unchanged: Reading, erasing, live data and active tests on the vehicles the MK808Z already supports continue to work as normal.

How does it work in practice?
The four steps below describe the entire process. The diagnostic cable is not needed; the update runs via Wi-Fi.
- Register device: State the serial number of your MK808Z when ordering.
- Forwarded: The extension is usually registered to the serial number within one working day.
- Connect: Switch on the MK808Z, connect it to Wi-Fi and leave it on the charger during the download.
- Finishing: Start the installation from the update menu and let the device do the work.
