The Autel EV Diagnostics Upgrade Kit is an expansion set within the accessories category for diagnostic equipment and extends existing Autel tablets with functionality for electric vehicles. The set consists of an EVDiag Box, a main cable, a range of brand-specific adapters for among others BMW, Tesla, and Volkswagen, breakout leads, a DB25 snake cable, and a transport case. The kit is intended for analysis of battery packs in EVs and hybrid vehicles.
Connection is made via the MaxiFlash VCI or VCMI, which acts as a communication interface between the tablet and the EVDiag Box. After entering the serial number of the EV box in the tablet portal, the software extension is activated, upgrading an MS909 or MaxiSys Ultra to MS909EV or MaxiSys Ultra EV respectively. The adapters provide access to diagnostic connections on battery packs from various manufacturers, enabling measurements on individual cell groups and reading of charge and health status.

Applications and functionalities
The Autel EV Diagnostics Upgrade Kit supports the following diagnostic tasks on electric and hybrid battery packs:
- State of Charge (SOC) Analysis: Reading the current state of charge of the battery pack and individual modules to determine the actual energy content.
- State of Health (SOH) Analysis: Determining the condition of the battery pack relative to its original capacity, useful for trade-in, warranty, or replacement assessments.
- Cell voltage measurement: Voltages on individual cell groups are measured via the breakout leads and dual banana plugs to identify defective cells within the pack.
- Brand-specific connection: The adapters BPTC0101 through BPTC1102 connect to the diagnostic connectors of battery packs from various manufacturers such as BMW, Tesla, and Volkswagen.
- Upgrade to EV version: Activation of the extended EV function set on the tablet, upgrading MS909 to MS909EV and MaxiSys Ultra to MaxiSys Ultra EV.
