The Adapter Cable is designed to connect older vehicles of the VAG group to modern diagnostic equipment. This cable converts the specific 2+2-pin OBD1 diagnostic port to a standardized 16-pin OBD2 connector. The vehicle side consists of two separate 2-pin plugs for power and data lines, while the other side has a female 16-pin connector for connecting a reader.
With this Adapter, it is possible to perform diagnostic tasks, such as reading and clearing error codes, on models from Audi, SEAT, Skoda, and Volkswagen produced before the 16-pin OBD2 port became standard. The cable combines the signals from the separate K- and L-lines and the power supply, enabling stable communication with the vehicle's control units.
Application and functionality:
This Adapter Cable serves as a bridge between the vehicle's OBD1 diagnostic connector and an OBD2 reader.
- Diagnostic connection: Enables connecting a 16-pin OBD2 reader to a 2+2-pin OBD1 connector.
- Compatibility: Specifically developed for older vehicles of the VAG group that are not yet equipped with a standard OBD2 port.
- Error code analysis: Provides access to the diagnostic data of the engine control unit (ECU) for reading and clearing error codes.
Compatible vehicles and Application:
This Adapter Cable is suitable for various older models of the VAG group equipped with a 2+2-pin diagnostic port, generally up to around 1996.
