The Adapter Cable is specifically designed to establish a connection between the diagnostic ports of a Yamaha Motorcycle and a standard OBD2 reading device. The cable is equipped with a 16-pin OBD2 female connector on one side and a Y-split to a 3-pin and a 4-pin connector on the vehicle side. This design makes it possible to communicate with various Yamaha models.
Thanks to the dual connection (3-pin and 4-pin), this Adapter supports communication via K-Line as well as via CAN-bus systems, depending on which protocol the Motorcycle uses. This makes the cable suitable for a wide range of models without needing different adapters. The cable is intended for reading fault codes, viewing live data, and other diagnostic functions supported by the reading device.
Application and functionality:
This Adapter Cable is used to connect a compatible OBD2 scanner to Yamaha Motorcycles equipped with a 3-pin or 4-pin diagnostic connector.
- Connectivity: Forms a physical link between the specific Yamaha connection and the standardized 16-pin OBD2 port of a diagnostic device.
- Diagnosis: Enables reading the engine management system (ECU) and other electronic modules to identify fault codes (DTCs) and analyze sensor data.
- Compatibility: The Y-cable with both a 3-pin and a 4-pin connector covers various models and model years that use different communication protocols.
Compatible vehicles and Application:
This Adapter Cable is compatible with various Yamaha Motorcycles equipped with a 3-pin or 4-pin diagnostic port. These generally concern models from around 2016, which comply with Euro 4 and Euro 5 standards.
