The OBDSTAR M063 is a universal 6-pin OBD to 16-pin OBD2 adapter cable specifically designed for diagnostics and programming of internal combustion engines in marine and industrial applications. The cable features a 6-pin OBD connector (female) on one end and a standard 16-pin J1962 OBD2 connector (male) on the other, allowing engine control systems with non-standard diagnostic connectors to connect with OBDSTAR diagnostic equipment. The cable is compatible with engine manufacturers including PCM/Crusader Engines, Ilmor, Indmar, Kodiak Marine, Marine Power, MerCruiser, Panther Airboats, Seven Marine and Volvo Penta.

The M063 adapter cable converts the 6-pin engine signal physically to the OBD2 port layout, enabling OBDSTAR diagnostic readers or programmers to access and process the existing diagnostic communication from the engine management system. The cable remaps the pin configuration without signal conversion or active electronics — the connection is passive and routes the relevant communication lines such as K-line or CAN to the corresponding pins in the OBD2 connector. This makes it possible to read fault codes, monitor engine parameters, and where supported perform programming operations via the OBDSTAR interface.
