\nThe OBDSTAR M027 is a adapter cable that the 3-pin diagnostic connector from Kymco and Kawasaki motorcycles converts to a standard 16-pin OBD2 connector (J1962). The cable is exclusively compatible with OBDSTAR diagnostic readers or programmersand is designed for use on motorcycles that don't have a direct OBD2 port. The housing of the3-pin connectorThis adapter cable is factory-specific and fits mechanically onto the diagnostic connector used on selected Kymco and Kawasaki motorcycle models.
\nThe cable allows the connected OBDSTAR diagnostic equipment capable of via the vehicle's own 3-pin connector to communicate with the electronic control units of the motorcycle. The signal pins in the 3-pin connector are internally connected to the corresponding contacts of the 16-pin OBD2 side, so that the K-line or CAN communication remains intact. This allows diagnostic tasks such as reading error codes and accessing systems are performed without any modifications to the vehicle.\n

Applications and Features
The M027 adapter cable supports the following diagnostic functions via the 3-pin diagnostic port of compatible Kymco and Kawasaki motorcycles when used with OBDSTAR equipment.
- Read fault codes: The connected OBDSTAR diagnostic scanner reads stored and active fault codes (DTCs) from the motorcycle's electronic control units via the 3-pin port.
- Clear fault codes: After diagnosis, fault codes can be cleared from the control unit via the adapter cable, after which the system performs a fresh self-diagnostic cycle.
- Retrieve live data: During operation or while stationary, real-time sensor and actuator values can be retrieved via the 3-pin connection and displayed on the OBDSTAR diagnostic scanner.
- System identification: The adapter cable allows you to retrieve vehicle and system information via the 3-pin communication line, such as the control unit type and software version.
