The OBDSTAR M034 is an adapter cable that converts a 4-pin and 6-pin Harley-Davidson OBD connection to a standard 16-pin OBD2 (J1962) connection. The cable is specifically designed for use with OBDSTAR readers and programmers and enables diagnostics on Harley-Davidson motorcycles equipped with a proprietary Deutsch connector instead of a standard OBD2 port. The cable features two separate branches: one for the 4-pin connector and one for the 6-pin connector, which are combined via a Y-split on the OBD2 side.
The adapter cable connects the vehicle side of the Harley-Davidson to the diagnostic input of the OBDSTAR device by translating the pin configuration of the Deutsch connectors to the corresponding pins of the J1962 port. Through this connection, diagnostic signals such as K-line and CAN bus can be transmitted to the reader, enabling communication with the motorcycle’s engine management and ride dynamics systems. The cable does not perform active signal processing; the passive pass-through provides a direct electrical link between the vehicle port and the diagnostic system.
