The OBDSTAR M046 is the adapter cable for the 4-pin diagnostic connector on Benelli motorcycles. On the vehicle side, it features the manufacturer-specific 4-pin connector; on the device side, a standard 16-pin OBD2 (J1962)-connector for your OBDSTAR diagnostic tool.
Benelli uses its own 4-pin socket for brake system diagnostics, separate from the standard diagnostic port. The cable is a passive pin translator: the relevant signal lines from that socket are converted to the corresponding pin positions within the J1962 housing, with no additional electronics in the signal path.
This connection is designed for ABS diagnostics. Other vehicle systems cannot be accessed through it. What you can accomplish within the ABS depends on your diagnostic tool's software capabilities.
KEY BENEFITS
IMPORTANT NOTES
Applications and Features
This connection gives you access to your motorcycle's braking control system.
Control units you can reach
- ABS control unit: the braking control system connected to the 4-pin Benelli socket.
- Other control units: not accessible via this cable; the socket is designed for ABS diagnostics only.
What you can do
- Read the ABS system: Access the ABS through the 4-pin socket using the connected OBDSTAR diagnostic tool.
- Assess fault codes: The data released by the ABS control unit through this connection is displayed on your device.
- Connect without modifications: The socket is used as it sits on the motorcycle; no components need to be removed or adjusted.
- Service multiple models: The same cable works on the Benelli models listed below.
- Important: the scope of use is limited to ABS diagnostics and further depends on your device's coverage.
Compatible vehicles and applications
The 4-pin diagnostic socket is what matters, not the model. The Benelli models listed below come equipped with this socket. Model years are not documented here; consult the OBDSTAR compatibility list for that information.
