The Nissan 14-pin OBD1 to 16-pin OBD2 adapter cable is designed to connect older Nissan vehicles to modern diagnostic equipment. This adapter cable links the vehicle-specific 14-pin diagnostic port, also known as the Consult connector, with the standardised 16-pin OBD2 connector of the diagnostic scanner.

This adapter cable provides the physical connection and enables direct signal transmission between the vehicle's electronic control units and the diagnostic tool. The cable adapts the pin configuration without electronically converting the communication protocols, which means the diagnostic scanner must be capable in software of reading and interpreting the older OBD1 protocols used by Nissan.

Good to know: On Nissan models, the 14-pin diagnostic port is often located in the fuse box on the left side below the dashboard. Sometimes it is necessary to remove the fuse box cover to gain access.
