The Jaltest OBD215 adapter is a conversion cable that establishes a connection between a vehicle with a 12-pin GM OBD1 port and a diagnostic device with a standard 16-pin OBD2 connector. This adapter is designed to enable communication with the electronic systems of older General Motors delivery vans and light commercial vehicles that are not yet equipped with the standardized OBD2 port.
With the adapter, a technician can perform diagnostic functions such as reading and clearing fault codes and viewing system information. The cable acts as a physical bridge between the vehicle’s older ALDL (Assembly Line Diagnostic Link) interface and the modern J1962 connector of the diagnostic device, ensuring compatibility for diagnostic purposes.
