The Jaltest JDC604.9 is a diagnostic cable that establishes a stable connection between the 10-pin OBD diagnostic port of Mercury engines and a 16-pin OBD2 diagnostic device. This cable is specifically designed for reading engines equipped with a MEFI 1, MEFI 2, MEFI 3, or MEFI 4 engine management system, which are widely used in inboard and outboard engines.
By using this Adapter Cable, a technician can communicate with the engine control unit via the Jaltest Marine diagnostic interface. This provides access to diagnostic functions such as reading and clearing fault codes, viewing live data from sensors, performing system checks, and calibrating components.
