The Jaltest JDC518A is the adapter cable for SISU engines with the manufacturer-specific 3+9-pin connector; on the engine side are those two connectors, on the interface side the 16-pin OBD2. The 3+9-pin connection consists of two plugs that come together on this single cable. They belong to the engine and are located in the engine bay or right next to the block.
With this connection, the Jaltest diagnostic equipment reads the four SISU engine control units covered in the database: EEM2 (VP30/VP44), EEM3 (EDC 7 UC31), EEM4 (EDC 17 CV54) and EEM4S5 (EDC MD1). All four have fault codes, live data, ECU information and service intervals covered in the database; additional functions are only included with EEM4 and EEM4S5. Because SISU engines are installed as standalone powerplants, the coverage spans multiple segments. The cable is included in Jaltest AGV (agricultural vehicles), Jaltest OHW (Off-Highway machines), Jaltest MHE (Material Handling Equipment) and Jaltest Marine.

Through this connection, you can access the SISU engine control unit using Jaltest software. Jaltest groups them together under the SISU Engines coverage module.
Control Units You Can Access
- EEM2 - VP30/VP44, Distributor-Type Diesel Injection Pump: The generation with electronic distributor pump.
- EEM3 - EDC 7 UC31, Diesel Control Injection, Common Rail: The first common-rail generation.
- EEM4 - EDC 17 CV54, Electronic Diesel Control, Common Rail: The fourth generation, with additional functions included in the coverage.
- EEM4S5 - EDC MD1, Electronic Diesel Control, Common Rail: The current version based on the EDC MD1 control unit.
What You Can Do
- Read and clear fault codes: Access the control unit's fault memory with detailed fault descriptions, and clear it after repairs are completed.
- View live data: Monitor current sensor readings from the control unit, with the ability to set alarm thresholds for out-of-range values.
- Maintenance: Check engine service intervals and record completed work in a report. Available on all four control units for SISU.
- Additional functions: The extra procedures Jaltest offers per control unit, such as reset and calibration functions. Available only on EEM4 and EEM4S5.
Compatible Vehicles and Applications
The engine type determines compatibility, not the equipment it's installed in. SISU engines are mounted as standalone powerplants; the engine generation determines what you'll find.
