The Adapter Cable is designed to create a connection between older vehicles from the VAG group and modern diagnostic equipment. This cable converts the specific 2+2-pin OBD1 diagnostic port into a standardized 16-pin OBD2 connector. The vehicle side consists of two separate 2-pin plugs for power and data lines, while the other side has a female 16-pin connector for connecting a reading device.
With this Adapter, it is possible to perform diagnostic tasks such as reading and clearing fault codes on models from Audi, SEAT, Skoda, and Volkswagen produced before the 16-pin OBD2 port became standard. The cable combines the signals from the separate K- and L-lines and the power supply, enabling stable communication with the vehicle's control units.
Application and functionality:
This Adapter Cable serves as a bridge between the vehicle's OBD1 diagnostic connection and an OBD2 reading device.
- Diagnostic connection: Enables connecting a 16-pin OBD2 reading device to a 2+2-pin OBD1 port.
- Compatibility: Specifically developed for older vehicles from the VAG group that are not yet equipped with a standard OBD2 port.
- Fault code analysis: Provides access to the diagnostic data of the engine control unit (ECU) for reading and clearing fault codes.
Compatible vehicles and applications:
This Adapter Cable is suitable for various older models from the VAG group equipped with a 2+2-pin diagnostic port, generally up to around 1996.
