The Topdon TopScan Pro is a compact diagnostic interface in the form of a VCI dongle that transforms a smartphone or tablet (iOS/Android) into a diagnostic tool. The connection is established via Bluetooth 5.0, ensuring stable communication with the vehicle. This system supports more than 60 vehicle makes and performs complete system diagnostics on all electronic control units present. The licence for updates and functionality is included for 1 year.

In addition to standard diagnostic functions, the TopScan Pro features bidirectional control, allowing components to be directly actuated for testing purposes. The device is equipped with 13 service functions for routine maintenance. Functionality can be further extended with optional SGW licences for secured vehicles from FCA and Renault. The integrated repair database provides technical support and manuals directly within the application.

Diagnostic functions:

The Topdon TopScan Pro performs complete system diagnostics, analysing all electronic control units in the vehicle.

• Read and clear fault codes: Reads and clears diagnostic fault codes (DTCs) from all available systems, including engine, transmission, ABS, airbags and body systems.
• Live data functions: Displays real-time data from sensors and components in various formats, including text, graphs and merged data streams for detailed analysis.
• Actuator control (Bidirectional operation): Sends commands to vehicle systems and components to test their operation. For example, injectors, pumps, windows or wipers can be activated.

Service and maintenance functions:

This device supports 13 service and maintenance functions. Available functions may vary depending on the specific make and model.

Engine and drivetrain:

• Oil service and inspection reset: Clears the service reminder for oil and maintenance after a service.
• Throttle body adaptation: Resets the throttle control to factory settings.
• Injector coding: Programmes new injector codes into the control unit after replacement.

Braking:

• ABS brake system bleeding: Removes air from the ABS system to restore braking performance.
• Electronic parking brake reset (EPB): Deactivates and activates the EPB system for maintenance and calibrates brake pads after replacement.

Exhaust systems:

• Diesel particulate filter regeneration (DPF): Initiates forced regeneration of the DPF to remove blockages.

Steering:

• Steering angle sensor initialisation (SAS): Calibrates the steering angle sensor, which is required for systems such as ESP.

Body and electrical:

• Battery reset (BMS): Registers a new battery in the Battery Management System (BMS) after replacement.
• Window calibration: Calibrates the electric windows to set the correct opening and closing positions.
• Sunroof initialisation: Resets the sunroof system to factory settings.
• Seat calibration: Calibrates the memory functions of electrically adjustable seats.

Safety systems:

• Airbag reset: Clears the airbag module and warning lights after a repair.
• Tyre pressure monitoring system reset (TPMS): Learns new TPMS sensors and resets the system after a tyre change.

The Topdon TopScan Pro offers various advanced functions for coding, reporting and technical support.

Coding and programming:

• Online coding: Provides the ability to perform online coding for vehicles from Volkswagen, Audi, Seat and Skoda.

Cloud and reporting functions:

• Diagnostic reports: Generates detailed diagnostic reports from the complete system scan. These reports can be saved, printed or shared digitally.

Documentation and diagrams:

• Repair database: Provides access to an integrated database with repair manuals, fault code analysis and technical service bulletins.

Other special capabilities:

• Performance test: Measures vehicle acceleration, for example from 0 to 100 km/h, and records the time and distance required.

The functionality of the Topdon TopScan Pro can be extended with the following optional, make-specific licences. These expansions are available separately.

• FCA Secure Gateway (SGW) licence: Provides authorised access to the secure vehicle systems of Fiat, Chrysler, Alfa Romeo, Jeep, Dodge and RAM models.
• Renault Secure Gateway (SGW) licence: Grants authorised access for performing diagnostics and special functions on Renault, Dacia and RSM vehicles equipped with a Secure Gateway.
