The Topdon Phoenix Plus update licence extends your entitlement to software updates for the Phoenix Plus with one year. The Phoenix Plus's capabilities are determined by its software, not its hardware. The device is a ten-inch diagnostic tablet with a wireless VCI dongle, the previous flagship model in the Plus range. The device codes control units and enables hidden functions freely on, among others, the lighting and ABS modules, works with the guided functions of the VAG group and displays a topology map with system check in one operation. An extension gives you one year's access to all new versions released during that period.
The extension is digital. You will receive a card with a code in your mailbox and enters them on the Phoenix Plus itself, in the update menu. When ordering, provide the serial number of the device, as this field is mandatory. An extension keeps the vehicle coverage, the service procedures and the coding files included.

Applications and functionalities
Three things on the Phoenix Plus depend on the licence. The vehicle coverage determines which vehicles the device recognises, the function files determine what it can do with them, and the online services deliver external data.
What a renewal provides
- New vehicle coverage: Brands, models and model years added after your last update become available within existing diagnostic functions.
- Expanded service functions: Procedures such as resetting service intervals, adjusting throttle valves, diesel particulate filter regeneration, injector coding and air suspension calibration continue to support newer vehicles as manufacturers modify their systems.
- Module schemas: The topology display gains the schematics of newer vehicle architectures.
What happens without renewal
- No further updates: The update menu remains empty, even when the manufacturer releases new versions.
- Cloud services: Reporting and support running through the manufacturer's servers may cease.
- No feature loss: What you can do with the Phoenix Plus today, you can still do after your licence expires.

How does it work in practice?
It takes four steps. Allow for some download time if you haven't updated for a year.
- Provide your details: We need the serial number of your Phoenix Plus; please provide this when ordering.
- Delivery: The extension card is supplied digitally, usually within one working day.
- Entry: The code goes into the update menu of the Phoenix Plus; the extension is activated there.
- Update the software: In the update menu, select the new versions and let the device download them over WiFi.
