The Topdon Phoenix Elite update licence extends your entitlement to software updates for the Phoenix Elite with one year. The manufacturer positions this device explicitly above the Phoenix Plus, because it online programming supports vehicles including BMW, Volkswagen, Skoda, Seat, Hyundai, Kia and Nissan, and it speaks CAN FD. The Phoenix Elite is a ten-inch diagnostic tablet with the Phoenix MDCI dongle and cloud-based programming, and all these functions draw from the same software file which is expanded with every update.

We will send you following your order a renewal card by email, typically within one working day. You enter the code from it into the update menu of the Phoenix Elite, after which the new period begins. Please provide the serial number of the device with your order, as this is mandatory. A renewal keeps the vehicle coverage, the programming and coding files and the topology display when ordering; server functions become limited once the licence expires.

✕A renewal provides software only, not hardware, so the T-Ninja Box key programmer, the HD software for commercial vehicles, the EV package and the ADAS system remain available for separate purchase.
✕Downloading requires a stable wifi connection; on a busy guest network, a large update can take considerable time.

The Phoenix Elite software comprises far more than a simple vehicle list. In addition to vehicle coverage are included in the procedure files in and the online services that the manufacturer assigns to it. Below you'll find what renewal means for each component.

What a renewal provides

  • New vehicle coverage: Brands, models and model years added after your last update become available within existing diagnostic functions.
  • Expanded service functions: Procedures such as oil service, diesel particulate filter regeneration, high-voltage battery reading, intelligent cruise control and engine angle calibration continue to align with newer vehicles as manufacturers update their systems.
  • Programming files: The files behind ECU programming are expanded for newer control units.

What happens without renewal

  • New versions: Nothing further is added, including no corrections to software already installed.
  • Online side: Services running through manufacturer servers may become limited or unavailable after expiry.
  • Daily operations: Reading and clearing codes, live data and active tests on known vehicles continue without interruption.

How does it work in practice?

Renewal requires minimal effort from you. Locate the serial number , provide it with your order and then follow these four steps.

  1. Providing the serial number: Read the serial number from the Phoenix Elite and provide it when ordering.
  2. Processing: The renewal card arrives by email, typically within one working day of your order.
  3. Entering the code: Switch on the Phoenix Elite, navigate to the update menu and enter the code from the renewal card.
  4. Installation: With the renewal active, new versions are ready; download them over wifi and install them.
