The Thinkcar Thinkdiag is a compact reading device in the form of a dongle, designed to communicate via Bluetooth with a smartphone or tablet. The device supports more than 115 vehicle brands and performs full system diagnostics on all present electronic control units. The main functionalities include bi-directional control, ECU coding, and more than 15 service and maintenance functions. A 1-year software update license is included with purchase.
In addition to the standard diagnostic functions, the Thinkcar Thinkdiag offers advanced features such as generating diagnostic reports, which can be digitally stored and shared. The software allows live data to be displayed graphically for detailed analysis. The compact form factor makes it a portable solution for both private users and professional mechanics.
Diagnostic functions:
The Thinkcar Thinkdiag performs a full system scan, analyzing all electronic modules in the vehicle.
- Read and clear fault codes: Reads and clears fault codes (DTCs) from all available systems, such as the engine, transmission, ABS, and airbag.
- Live data: Displays real-time data from sensors and components in text and graph form for detailed analysis of vehicle performance.
- Actuator control (Bi-directional control): Directly controls components to test functionality, such as activating headlights, windshield wipers, or fuel pumps.
- Automatic VIN recognition: Automatically identifies the vehicle based on the chassis number (VIN) for quick and accurate selection.
Service and maintenance functions:
This device supports more than 15 service and maintenance functions. The available functions may vary depending on the specific vehicle brand, model, and year of manufacture.
Engine and drivetrain:
- Oil service reset: Resets the service interval for the engine oil after a change.
- Injector coding: Registers new injector codes in the control unit after replacement.
- Throttle body learning: Resets the basic settings of the electronic throttle body after maintenance or replacement.
- Transmission initialization: Adjusts the shift points of the automatic transmission after maintenance.
- Battery registration: Registers a new battery in the vehicle management system.
Exhaust systems:
- Diesel particulate filter regeneration (DPF): Initiates forced regeneration of the DPF to clear blockages.
- EGR valve learning: Learns the new values of the exhaust gas recirculation valve after replacement or cleaning.

- Electronic parking brake (EPB): Activates or deactivates the brake system for maintenance, such as replacing brake pads.
