The CarLabImmo FCA 12+8-pin SGW adapter cable is a diagnostic adapter developed to bypass the Security Gateway Module (SGW). This module is present in recent vehicles from the Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) group. The cable creates a direct connection between a standard 16-pin OBD2 diagnostic tool and the internal vehicle networks by connecting to the vehicle’s 12-pin and 8-pin connectors.
The SGW module functions as a firewall that restricts access for aftermarket diagnostic equipment to most vehicle systems. Using this adapter cable is necessary to perform full diagnostic operations. This includes performing bidirectional controls, actuator tests, making adjustments, and clearing fault codes in all present modules, which is not possible without this bypass.
Application and functionality:
This adapter is designed to give diagnostic equipment full access to the electronic system of vehicles equipped with an SGW module.
