The OBDSTAR N004 is a connector adapter that converts a 3-pin OBD connection into a 16-pin OBD2 (J1962) port. On the vehicle side, the adapter connects directly to the proprietary 3-pin diagnostic connector found on scooters and motorcycles.
Different two-wheeler manufacturers use their own 3-pin diagnostic connector. The adapter routes the relevant signal pins to the correct positions on the OBD2 port, allowing your diagnostic scanner to establish a K-line- or CAN-bus-connection with the vehicle. The compact housing enables direct mounting on the vehicle connector without additional wiring.
The adapter provides access to the two-wheeler's engine control unit and nothing beyond. Compatibility varies by model year and available diagnostic port; what functions you can perform depends on your OBDSTAR device's software.
KEY BENEFITS
IMPORTANT NOTES
Applications and Features
Access your scooter or motorcycle's control unit through the 3-pin connector.
Control units you can reach
- Electronic control unit: the engine control module of your scooter or motorcycle behind the 3-pin diagnostic connector.
- Other modules: whether additional systems are accessible varies by brand, model, and device.
What you can do
- Read fault codes: retrieve stored diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) from your two-wheeler's electronic control unit.
- Clear fault codes: erase fault status and trouble codes from the system after diagnosis and repair.
- Request live data: read real-time sensor values and engine parameters via K-line or CAN connection.
- Convert connection: the 3-pin vehicle interface is mechanically and electrically adapted to the 16-pin OBD2 J1962 connector.
- Important: not every model within a supported brand is guaranteed to be accessible; this depends on year of manufacture, diagnostic port type, and device.
Compatible vehicles and applications
What matters is the 3-pin OBD diagnostic connector, not the brand. The brands listed below are confirmed compatible via that connector. Whether the correct connector is present varies by model; check your vehicle documentation to confirm.
