The OBDSTAR M071 is the adapter cable for the 6-pin diagnostic connector on Tohatsu outboard motors. On the other end, it features a 16-pin OBD2 (J1962) connector for your OBDSTAR diagnostic device. At the engine side, the cable connects directly to the factory diagnostic port on the motor.
Tohatsu uses a proprietary 6-pin connector on these engines instead of a standard port. Both connector housings are mechanically keyed, which prevents incorrect connections physically — practical in the tight space of an engine compartment.
The cable gives the diagnostic software of your connected OBDSTAR device direct access to the engine's electronic systems. Which diagnostic functions you can perform depends on your device and its software license; the cable itself adds no additional coverage.
