The OBDSTAR TCM-011 is an adapter cable featuring a 6-pin connector on the vehicle side for the Getrag VGS2-FCVT transmission control module and a 15-pin DB15 connector on the device side. The 6-pin side connects directly to the TCM connector located within the transmission itself, which becomes readily accessible once the module is removed from the vehicle.

The VGS2-FCVT is the control unit for a continuously variable transmission (CVT) supplied by Getrag for compact Mercedes-Benz passenger vehicles. Its dedicated 6-pin connection allows you to access the module independently, bypassing the OBD2 port and vehicle network entirely. This is exactly what you need for tasks like cloning or reprogramming the TCM outside the vehicle. The cable length and connector design are optimized for workshop use.

This cable unlocks access to this CVT control unit only and no other modules. Which TCM functions you can perform depends on your connected OBDSTAR device and its software version; the cable itself does not add any vehicle coverage.

The TCM-011 connects your Getrag VGS2-FCVT transmission control unit to the DB15 port on your OBDSTAR device.

Control units you can access

  • Getrag VGS2-FCVT TCM: the continuously variable transmission control unit, via the 6-pin connector on the module.
  • This module only: other control units in the vehicle cannot be reached with this cable.

What you can do

  • Read TCM data: retrieve current programming data and configuration settings from the control unit.
  • Clone the TCM: copy the complete contents of an original module to a replacement unit to preserve transmission settings.
  • Reprogram the TCM: overwrite or update the software via direct connection to the 6-pin connector, independent of the vehicle network.
