The OBDSTAR TCM-003 is a specific Adapter Cable designed for direct connection to Temic DL501 (0B5) transmission control units (TCM). This cable features a round 16-pin TCM connector on the vehicle side and a 15-pin DB15 connector on the diagnostic side. The Adapter Cable creates a physical bridge between the automatic transmission mechatronics and the diagnostic and programming equipment on the workbench.

Within the diagnostic context, this adapter facilitates stable signal transmission for accurate reading and writing of module data. It allows technicians to communicate via the CAN bus protocol, which is necessary for cloning and addressing the transmission module. The wiring is specifically configured for the pin-out of the VAG 7-speed DSG/S-tronic system, safely routing the required operating voltage and data communication to the connected hardware.
