The OBDSTAR TCM-001A adapter cable connects the 25-pin connector of a Temic DQ200 transmission control unit (TCM) to the 15-pin DB15 port of compatible diagnostic equipment. This configuration allows diagnostic technicians to establish a direct connection to the mechatronics of the VAG 7-speed DSG gearbox, specifically for the 0AM and 0CW variants, in a bench setup outside the vehicle.

Within the diagnostic context, the adapter facilitates the transfer of CAN bus signals and the necessary power supply required for safe reading and writing of data. The pin configuration is hardware-tuned to the Temic protocol to prevent signal loss during transmissions. This specific cable is exclusively compatible with OBDSTAR diagnostic devices or programmers and does not work with interfaces from other manufacturers.
